Read this just to find out if DAOs made the list lol. Nice!

Obviously the legal structure isn’t necessarily the only factor determining effectiveness and purpose of an organization. I believe the culture and governance model is key as well. Currently my purpose oriented business is structured as an LLC. But I do see what you mean.

This is a helpful article for those curious in staring up an enterprise. I especially appreciate your questions at the end.

My hope would be to see more and more startups with a soul.

This landed at just the right time for me. I’m getting ready to launch something new that targets a societal problem but I don’t want to get bogged down with a non-profit (and be constantly asking others for money). I don’t want it to be profit driven but I want it to be self-sustainable.

I have started a few programs like this within an LLC format. That works but people like to support non-profits and are suspicious of corporations. I really like the L3C approach but looks like Colorado might not have that yet.
